PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Wharfedale Pro Delta 15

Delta 15 is the largest 2-way speaker in the range. Featuring a 2” titanium voice coil combined with a 15” low-distortion cast-frame woofer, the loudspeaker generates 500 watts RMS of power spanning a full range of sound from 50 Hz to 20 kHz, while the 90 x 60 waveguides ensure a long-throw projection.

Constructed from 15 mm plywood and covered in the highest quality Rhino Rock paint, the new Delta X15 is instantly recognizable by the engraved iconic Wharfedale Pro ‘boomerang’ logo on its cabinet. The fresh cosmetic design, however, is not the only improvement the engineering team has made.

Internally, Delta X15 also has a new crossover design and construction. Using new component positioning and bracing, the sensitive crossover electronics have been re-engineered to improve long-term performance and reliability—even at the highest of volumes.

Custom Wharfedale Pro transducers have also been selected. High-output, low-physical-distortion cast-frame woofers deliver unparalleled low-frequency response. With the exception of the Delta X10, 2” titanium compression drivers are coupled to 90°x45° elliptical waveguides for impressive output level and smooth HF dispersion.

15 mm Russian Birch plywood construction

Delta X15 is made of premium 15 mm Russian birch plywood. It is even more dense than MDF and creates an extremely strong and durable cabinet. Although not recommended, birch plywood is more tolerant in damp conditions. During construction, it is harder to cut but holds screws better than particle board or MDF. This makes it ideal for flagship professional audio loudspeakers, which are to be used in extreme and critical environments.

Bi-amp and Passive modes

In BI-AMP mode, two power amplifiers can be used. This gives you the advantage of being able to select the best power amplifier specifications for each driver inside the loudspeaker. In a BI-AMP configuration, an external crossover is used to separate the frequencies, and this splits the signal to the dedicated LF amplifier and the HF amplifier. This way, each amplifier is only working on the given frequency range and, in turn, is powering the corresponding driver inside the loudspeaker.
