The Eaton 5PX3000IRT3U UPS is a robust 3000 VA / 2700 W line‑interactive uninterruptible power supply engineered to deliver reliable power continuity and voltage regulation for critical IT infrastructure. Built for rack‑mount (3U) or tower installations, this model is ideal for server rooms, networking racks, storage systems, and high‑availability environments that demand consistent performance and clean power delivery. Its industrial‑grade design combines high power density with intelligent battery and energy management.

Power Technology & Output Performance

At its core, the 5PX3000IRT3U employs line‑interactive topology with Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) to stabilise mains voltage fluctuations before drawing from the battery, extending battery life and improving resilience against undervoltage and overvoltage conditions. It delivers a pure sine‑wave output with a 0.9 output power factor, meaning the UPS can support 2700 W of real load from a 3000 VA rating—making it suitable for high‑density equipment like servers and enterprise networking gear. Standard outlets include eight IEC C13 sockets and one IEC C19 socket, allowing flexible connectivity for multiple devices within a rack or cabinet. The UPS supports a wide adjustable input voltage range (160 V–294 V) and input frequency tolerance up to 70 Hz, helping maintain uptime in regions with unstable utility power.

Battery Management & Runtime Expandability

The unit includes six internal maintenance‑free lead‑acid batteries with user‑replaceable design and Eaton’s Advanced Battery Management (ABM®) system, which uses temperature‑compensated charging and deep‑discharge protection to maximise battery life. Users can conduct automatic battery tests and the system recognises external battery modules, enabling runtime extension when additional autonomy is required.

Typical runtimes vary with load, providing a few minutes at full rated output to allow for orderly shutdowns or transfer to backup generators, while lighter loads can achieve significantly longer backup durations. External battery modules (EBMs) can be added for extended runtime scenarios in data‑critical setups.

• With a power factor of 0.9, the 5PX delivers more real output power. It powers more servers than other UPSs with

equivalent VA ratings and lower power factors. The 5PX is compatible with all modern IT equipment.

• When operating in battery mode the 5PX provides a high quality output signal for any sensitive equipment connected,

such as active PFC (power factor corrected) servers.

Availability and Flexibility

• The 5PX is available in a rack/tower convertible version - pedestal and rail kits are included with all models at no extra charge.

• Stronger, longer battery life: Eaton ABM® battery management technology uses an innovative three-stage charging technique that only recharges the battery when necessary, so the battery experiences less corrosion and service life is

prolonged by up to 50%.

• Batteries can be hot-swapped without ever having to shut down connected equipment. With an optional, hot-swap maintenance bypass module, you can even replace the entire UPS.

• There is also the possibility to add more runtime with up to four external hot-swappable battery modules, able to run systems for hours if necessary. The additional battery modules are automatically recognized by the UPS.
